Our Community Teaching Garden
The goal of the DFG community teaching garden is to support people of all ages to grow, prepare, and eat nourishing food through hands-on educational opportunities at our urban farm located in Conley, GA. Through neighborhood workshops, training, and field trips, we educate and train youth, adults, and seniors on the many benefit so gardening. The DFG Garden education and training program is intended to make small-scale food production accessible through transferring gardening knowledge at weekly workdays and sharing fresh produce with registered neighbors and friends. The garden features 8 highly productive raised bed gardens that have produced over 3000 pounds of fresh produce since 2018. Food produced in the garden is distributed through our Farm-to-Table Senior Project which provides low-income seniors living alone or within assisted living communities with access to high-quality organic vegetables year-round.
